Jimmy Case
League Cup Status – Winner (Liverpool) 1981
Jimmy Case possessed one of the most powerful shots and was a huge fan of swinging the ball from long distances. At Liverpool, Cases shots were thought as the most powerful in the country. He scored spectacular goals despite not scoring to frequently. Case forced his way into the Liverpool starting eleven in 1975 and he quickly established a reputation for scoring crucial goals. His courage and skill established him as a vital element in the Reds unbelievable success under the great Bob Paisley. He won four championships, three European Cups, one UEFA Cup and a league Cup with Liverpool. Case moved to Brighton in 1981 and helped them reach the FA Cup final in 1983. In 1985 he moved to Southampton, a club which he stayed and ended his career at later on.

 

John Aldridge
League Cup Status – Winner (Oxford United) 1986
In March 1984, John Aldridge was spotted by Oxford United and in his three years at the club, he scored a total of 72 league and cup goals and in the process he helped Oxford to victory in the final of the League Cup (Littlewoods Cup). When he signed for Liverpool in 1987, the Anfield faithful believed that they had signed Ian rush’s copy. In his 83 appearances for Liverpool, Aldridge scored an incredible 51 goals, to this day one of the finest goal scoring ratios ever in English football. In 1989 he moved to Spanish club, Real Sociedad and then moved to back to Merseyside few years later, this time playing for lower division club, Tranmere Rovers.
